Texmex Seasoned Ground Beef

One of my favorite meals is tacos. The main ingredient in tacos is the seasoned ground beef. You can buy the store bought taco seasoning packets, but no need to when you can make your own taco seasoning. And, you probably already have the ingredients on hand.

Once you have the taco seasoning its time to make the seasoned ground beef. Aside from being used in tacos, this texmex seasoned ground beef can be used in burritos, quesadillas, and more.

1 pound ground beef
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce

Brown the ground beef over medium heat. Season ground beef with salt. Remove meat from skillet and set aside.

Heat the oil in the same skillet. Add onions and saute until tender, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add chili powder, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper, cook about 1 minute.

Add ground beef, dried oregano and tomato sauce, stir and cook about 5 to 10 minutes. Enjoy!
