Sausage Pasta Fazool

Bring this classic Italian - American comfort food into your home. 

Sausage Pasta Fazool
Recipe by Christine Lamb @ Christine's Pantry - 2017

Ingredients:
1 pound ground italian sausage
1 onion, chopped
salt and pepper
1 tablespoon italian seasoning
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 - 15 oz. can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
2 tablespoons tomato paste
3/4 cups chicken broth
1/4 cup pasta water
1 cup elbow macaroni
chopped parsley for garnish

Directions:
Cook pasta according to package directions. Carefully reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water. Drain and return to pot. Set aside. 

In skillet over medium heat, add italian sausage, onions, salt and pepper. Breaking meat up as it cooks, and cook until no longer pink. Stir in garlic and tomato paste. Add chicken broth and pasta water. Stir in italian seasoning, beans and pasta. Heat through. Garnish with parsley.
